Orixa Movement with Vera Passos
Co-presented by Dance Mission Theater & BCF

Live drumming!
Vera Passos is one of Salvador, Bahia’s most acclaimed Afro-Brazilian dancers. Vera has danced for Jorge Silva Dance Company and the acclaimed Balé Folclórico da Bahia touring all throughout Brazil, Europe, Asia, the US and South America. Vera has been a guest artist with Viver Brasil since 2010, and she also choreographs for Tocandomblé and went on extensive tours with Steve Coleman. Passos began studying the demanding Silvestre Technique with creator Rosangela Silvestre in 1992, and soon became the protégé of Silvestre. Vera teaches the Silvestre Technique and Orixa Dance Movement classes Internationally and at the Annual Silvestre Technique Intensive which happens every January and August in Salvador, Brazil.
